HARVESTING

We run mostly Flory equipment during harvest as we believe that it is the best you can get.  Harvest time is the busiest time for us and we want equipment that we are confident will be running when we need it the most.  We work closely with a custom shaker to get our almonds on the ground.  From there we sweep everything in to windrows with 2 Flory 6655 sweepers. 

Then we come in with a Flory 8500 to pick the nuts up.  This machine is a newer type of harvester, with wider chains and lower fan speeds it reduces the amount of dust put into the air.  It also covers ground at a very fast pace.  This is a huge benefit as time is at a premium this time of year.  Getting the crop up and in to the processor before it rains is important and some years can be a challenge.  We work long hours to ensure that things get harvested in a timely manner.

We do some custom harvesting throughout the season but up to this point have tried to keep it to a minimum.  We feel like we have enough of our own ground to cover and we don’t want to make promises that we can’t keep.  With the new harvest equipment that we have purchased over the last few years though, we have been able to easily keep up and would definitely be interested in talking with you if you need someone to do your harvesting. 


All of our almonds go to Stewart & Jasper for hulling, processing and marketing.  We have worked with them for over 20 years.  They are in our opinion one of the leading processors and marketers in the area.  We put a lot of time and hard work in to getting to the harvest and feel like they are the most trustworthy place that we could send the crop to.
