After the threat of frost in April all of the way up to harvest time is a great time to incorporate the debris on your orchard floor with our tiller.  We anticipate keeping this machine very busy throughout the spring and summer, so feel free to give us a call to get on the schedule in the timing that works best for you.  We have also done some tilling during the winter right behind the shredder.  If you can get in and get it done before the winter rains come, this is also a great time of year to till.   The cost per acre for this service varies due to row spacing and orchard conditions, but on average most orchards come in at around $25 per acre.  Please feel free to give us a call at 996-8408 if you are interested in our orchard tilling services.  We would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

With the new regulations on burning and the increasing use of brush shredding, many people are having difficulties dealing with the build up of shredded materials and other trash on the orchard floor when it comes to harvest.   All of this material slows the process down considerably.  We have recently purchased a 10 Ft. Northwest Tiller that has done a great job in eliminating this problem with ONE PASS!  Up until this machine was introduced, the only way to solve the problem of trash on the orchard floor was by discing multiple times and then floating.  This tiller allows for one pass cleanup leaving your orchard floor smooth, clean and ready for harvest. 

We did some experimenting last summer with this machine and found out that for the cleanest orchard floor, it helps to run a sweeper through ahead of the tiller to blow the strips out from under the trees.  This allows the tiller to incorporate all of the debris on the orchard floor.  We have two sweepers available to run ahead of our tiller and would be happy to come in and help you to achieve the cleanest orchard floor possible.
